Sam Miranda Merlot 2013

THIS VINTAGE HAS SOLD OUT!

The Wine
Classic bright plum fruit aromas and rich mulberry and spice flavours showcase why this variety has found a home in the KING VALLEY. A cool climate style of Merlot that is designed to suit a wide range of medium to fuller flavoured meals. Can be enjoyed over the next 8 years and beyond!

Winemaking
Fermented at 25 - 28C, daily rack and returns to increase the oxygen contact during the peak period of fermentation. Extended skin contact of 10 days to soften and define the tannin structure of the palate.

Viticulture
Merlot is Bordeaux’s most planted grape variety, it is easier to ripen than Cabernet Sauvignon and therefore is arguably the most successful variety in the cool climate of the King Valley. Grown on a North Eastern facing slope in the cooler upper King Valley at 300m above sea level.
